Winter Festival of Lights
Canada’s largest FREE outdoor light festival featuring millions of lights and displays along the Niagara Parkway.
ON, Canada
Straddling the border of Ontario, Canada and New York, USA, Niagara Falls is one of the world’s most famous natural attractions, celebrated for the sheer power and beauty of its three waterfalls — Horseshoe, American and Bridal Veil. The area combines dramatic scenery with a surprisingly dense cluster of viewpoints, family attractions, dining and cultural experiences that make it easy to spend several days exploring.
Both sides of the river offer distinct perspectives: the Canadian side is famed for panoramic vistas and larger tourist infrastructure, while the American side emphasizes parkland, historic features and intimate access to the gorge. Visitors come year-round for boat cruises, behind-the-falls walks, towers and seasonal events such as summer fireworks, winter ice formations and holiday light displays.
Best months: late May to September for warm weather, full boat and attraction schedules and festivals;
shoulder seasons (April–May, September–October) for fewer crowds and pleasant sightlines;
winter offers dramatic frozen vistas and holiday lights but many boat tours close.
