About Yukon Wildlife Preserve

The Yukon Wildlife Preserve protects and displays native northern species in spacious, naturalistic enclosures and is an excellent place to learn about Yukon fauna. Visitors can take self-drive tours or join guided interpretive drives—especially useful in winter when walking is difficult due to snow and cold. Guides are known for being knowledgeable and passionate, enhancing the experience with stories about rescue, rehabilitation and local ecology.

The preserve is family-friendly and popular year-round; in winter the driving tour minimizes exposure to extreme cold while still allowing close views of animals. Many guests remark on the charm of resident foxes, playful ground squirrels and the overall quality of interpretation.
