About Shipyards Park

Shipyards Park sits on the banks of the Yukon River and combines historic buildings, green space, an inclusive playground and excellent river views. It’s the site for many of Whitehorse’s outdoor events including markets, festivals and family gatherings; the Jumpstart Playground and picnic facilities make it especially popular with families. Artisans, performers and vendors frequently animate the park during summer weekends, making it a social hub.

Historical interpretation around the grounds explains the area’s past and there are good vantage points for photography of the river and city. The park is accessible and easy to pair with nearby downtown attractions and riverside walks.
